Jose Pedro Santos

José Pedro became BY&H's first paralegal in January 1997. He currently deals mostly with insurance defense litigation, collections, real estate, probate and construction law. In the past he also worked as a bilingual corporate paralegal at Chiquita Brands International, Inc., and as a temporary paralegal for various law firms, while teaching for Cincinnati Public Schools and working as a legal and technical translator for several local agencies and corporations.

José Pedro is a native of Madrid, Spain. He holds a Master's in English degree from the prestigious Complutense University in Madrid,Spain, and has attended miscellaneous graduate courses in Britain,Northern Ireland, and the University of Cincinnati. He is also a graduate from the American Institute for Paralegal Studies, Inc., an American Alliance Certified Paralegal or AACP, and an Ohio State Bar Association Certified Paralegal.

José Pedro has been an active member of the Cincinnati Paralegal Association ("CPA") since 1992, and served in different capacities at the local, state, and national levels. He is currently the CPA's Editor and Newsletter Committee Chairperson, and an active participant in the CPA's pro bono programs.

José Pedro is also a paralegal member of the Ohio State Bar Association. He regularly publishes articles in The Paralegal Resource, CPA's monthly newsletter, in the National Paralegal Reporter, The Alliance Echo, and in the Lexis-Nexis®Paralegal Update, among other publications. He is also a frequent speaker on paralegal topics at different local paralegal programs, and has taught paralegal students at the College of Mount St. Joseph.

José Pedro resides in Northside with his wife, a writer and freelance arts-and-crafts speaker for the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. José Pedro likes to be involved in his community, and is currently a member of the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati USA, as well as the President of "Casa de España de Cincinnati," the Spanish Association of Cincinnati for Spanish expatriates.
