The Business and Construction Law Group of Benjamin, Yocum & Heather has extensive experience in business and construction law matters. The practice spans a broad range of business matters with emphasis in commercial, industrial and institutional construction projects. Thomas R. Yocum heads the Benjamin, Yocum & Heather Business and Construction Law Group. Tom joined the predecessor firm of Benjamin, Yocum & Heather upon his graduation from the University of Cincinnati Law School in 1979. He is one of the founding principals of Benjamin, Yocum & Heather. Tom is active in all aspects of the Firm’s business and construction practice.
Lisa M. Bitter, member of the firm, contributes valuable experience to the Benjamin, Yocum & Heather Business and Construction Law Group in representing clients in OSHA matters. Lisa’s experience in administrative proceedings before OSHA enables her to advise clients on both how to avoid OSHA problems and how to deal with citations that are issued. Lisa also provides services for the firm’s business clients regarding estate planning, and business entity formation.
Brad Weber, a principal of the firm, provides employment law services including drafting employee handbooks, developing programs that address sexual harassment and discrimination, employee disciplinary issues, and other employment-related issues, including defending EEOC/OCRC charges and discrimination issues.
Julie A. Neuroth is an attorney of the firm, concentrating in construction law, arbitrations, litigation and design, architecture and engineering related issues. Ms. Neuroth brings to the Business and Construction Law Group valuable experience having previously worked with a firm primarily in the defense of design professionals. This experience adds to the firm’s resources in the full range of construction oriented services, from basic subcontract agreements, architectural and design service contracts, design-build contracts, to land sale agreements.
The Business and Construction Law Group offers a broad range of services spanning from routine collections to complex legal issues. The firm has also successfully handled cases involving the constitutionality of MBE/WBE programs. The firm advises clients on construction contracts and handles all types of litigation, arbitrations, and mediations relating to construction matters. The firm handles mechanic’s liens and bond claims, bid protests, and creditors’ rights in bankruptcy.
