For many years, the Cincinnati Bar Association has sponsored a program known as Volunteer Lawyers for the Poor, wherein members of the Cincinnati Bar Association agree to handle cases on a pro bono basis for those persons who are unable to pay legal fees. Many Cincinnati area law firms and solo practitioners participate in this worthy effort. Benjamin, Yocum & Heather, LLC was recently named “Law Firm of the Year” for 2005 by the Volunteer Lawyers for the Poor. Only one law firm was so named.
