Thomas R. Yocum (Tom) is a 1979 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Tom also attended law school at California Western University College of Law in San Diego. He
received his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, in 1975 from Ohio State University. Through Ohio State, he also studied at New College, Oxford University, England, and was with one of the
first student groups to visit the People's Republic of China in 1975.

Tom is a member of the Cincinnati, Kentucky and Ohio State Bar Associations, as well as the Florida Bar. Tom is the managing attorney of Benjamin, Yocum, & Heather and Chairman of the firm's Business and Construction Law Department. Tom's practice in the business and construction law areas covers a broad spectrum, including business formation, arbitrations and litigation, contract negotiation, drafting and interpretation, claims, mechanic's liens and bond claims.

Tom is a member of the American Arbitration Association panel of arbitrators for the construction industry and is member of the AAA Construction Advisory Council.

He is chapter attorney of the American Subcontractors Association of Cincinnati. He is Chairman of the Construction Specifications Institute of Cincinnati legal committee. and has chaired the committee that publishes the Constructor Magazine for Allied Construction Industries in Cincinnati.

Tom has published numerous articles on business and construction law topics. He has published in the American Business Law Journal, Northern Kentucky Law Review, Salmon P. Chase College of Law and regularly contributes articles to publications of the American Subcontractors Association and the Construction Specifications Institute.

In addition, Tom has been an instructor of business law at the University of Cincinnati, has spoken extensively at construction law seminars and seminars at clients' offices, and has authored seminar materials on various construction law topics.

Tom also has extensive experience in insurance law matters and has an active insurance defense practice.

Tom and his family reside in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. He has actively participated on various committees of the Fort Thomas Independent Schools. Tom and his family attend the Highland United Methodist Church, where Tom has served as a trustee, chairman of the administrative board, and chairman of the finance committee.
