Brad has been practicing law since 1997, and is licensed to practice in the states of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Brad is also licensed, and practices in, Federal Courts throughout the region. Brad is the Chair of the Benjamin, Yocum & Heather, LLC Intellectual Property Law Department, assisting individuals and corporations, trademark registration, with trade secrets, contract issues and related matters. In recent years, Brad’s practice has expanded greatly in the area of estate planning. Brad regularly assists individuals and couples throughout the Tri-State Area with wills, living wills, powers of attorney and trusts. Brad also represents clients in probate matters. He also has an active civil litigation practice. Brad has served as lead counsel in hundreds of cases, including numerous civil jury trials, arbitrations and mediations. Brad practices significantly in the area of personal injury, construction law, contract law and corporate law, including corporate organization. Brad is a trained mediator, and regularly mediates cases including serving as a volunteer mediator for the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas. He is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, and Kentucky Bar Association. Brad formerly served as Chair of the Cincinnati Bar Association International Law Committee. Brad graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and minors in German, political science and European area studies. During college, Brad spent a year studying in Germany and Luxembourg. After college, and prior to attending law school, Brad worked for two years in management for a large regional logistics corporation. He received his law degree from the University of Kentucky. During law school, Brad completed an internship with the Honorable Karl S. Forester, former Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Brad also served as class representative for the Student Bar Association. In his practice, Brad has lectured to national and local corporations, legal associations and trade organizations regarding various topics of legal interest. He is also a regular contributor to the Benjamin, Yocum & Heather, LLC newsletter, focusing on topics in employment law. Brad participates in the Volunteer Lawyers Project, providing pro bono legal services to low income individuals. Brad and his wife Meg are both from the Cincinnati area.
